Phoenix is the largest city in the state of Arizona with 4.2 million inhabitants and is also the state capital. The city lies to the north of the Sonoran desert and is a popular tourist destination, experiencing more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Along with countless skyscrapers, posh restaurants such as the famous Vincent's on Camelback, golf courses and innumerable shopping facilities in one of the many shopping malls, Phoenix offers many cultural options (e.g. the Heard Museum, which displays the Indian culture of the American south west) and numerous bars and clubs make for an excellent nightlife. Price-conscious tourists will likely prefer to spend the night in one of the cheap motels in the suburbs of the city. Those inclined more towards luxury can rent a room in one of the luxurious hotels in the city center, such as the "Crowne Plaza Hotel".
