Ettelbrück

Ettelbrück, whose name is thought to be derived from proto-Celtic atilbriga ('fertile earth'), is home to approx. 7,500 people.

The town is easily reached by rail, as the Liège-Luxembourg fast trains call here. Ettelbrück played an important role in the Second World War, which is why the well-known General Patton Memorial Museum is located here.

In the realm of sport, there is a good number of important football and basketball teams locally as well as a swimming club that contributed three athletes to the 2008 Olympic Games. Ettelbrück also has an excellent reputation as a shopping centre. Some of the companies here, such as Goodyear, can also be visited.
